Women Supporting Trump

Facing backlash from women’s groups and female voters over recent attacks on Heidi Cruz, wife of Ted Cruz, Donald Trump claimed over the weekend that there are over 15,000 women’s groups supporting him. He did so in a retweet to his 7M+ followers on the social network. It received nearly 7,000 retweets and over 15k likes.

Before anyone jumps up and says, “but that was a retweet – Trump didn’t say it,” here’s the thing. He’s running for President of the United States. Twitter, while being a petite format for communication with its 140-character limit, is a tool that can reach the masses. As a candidate, he must be very cautious with what and how he Tweets. As a President, he must only ever Tweet the truth. The notion that just because it’s on Twitter or just because he’s repeating what others are saying is a ridiculous argument for anyone wanting to be the most powerful person in the world.

We did some Google and Twitter searches of our own. It appears to be nearly impossible to quantify the number of women’s groups that support him based upon dozens of search terms. While we don’t doubt that there are women’s groups that support him, the idea that Trump supporter @Tytan01 was able to calculate the number or that the number is so astronomically high is utterly ridiculous. Of course, the account in question has a penchant for spreading false statements such as this false quote from Jennifer Lawrence.

The reality is that Donald Trump has a tremendous problem with female voters. It’s been a strangely dormant problem for a while, but it seems that even Trump’s magic spell isn’t enough to keep the wool over everyone’s eyes for this long. His female supporters are finally starting to react.

As usual, Trump is spinning all of the negative press about his problem with women as a media fabrication. As usual, he’s doing so on Twitter.

Anyone who thinks Donald Trump is simply delusional is completely underestimating him. He’s a master manipulator of his supporters and his media which is why he can make such outrageous claims stick.
