The New Americana

When we first started News Watch, the goal was to counter the blatantly pro-Trump propaganda coming from “conservative” sites like Drudge Report and Breitbart. Our efforts and the efforts of millions of proud patriots were too little, too late. Now, the fight gets bigger. It’s even more important now to promote the ideology of conservatism.

There were three major complaints about our site. First, the name sucked. When I initially launched the site in 2007, it was focused on social media news. Things changed over the years and my personal doctrines of conservatism and Christianity started seeping in. We hired writers, changed designs, and by the time the election season started ramping up the site had no resemblance to its original form. The only social media discussed on the site was about Tweeting at the GOP. The site URL needs to be changed.

The second complaint was about building a mobile app. We’re doing that now.

The third complaint was about the updates. Keep in mind that we’re updating throughout the day, but because of the spikes in traffic, it was necessary to install a hard cache that would only allow updates to go live every three hours. We’re moving the site now to a dedicated host that will be able to handle millions of visitors per day.

With the fight getting even more important than it was before, we’ve decided to address all of the problems by switching it to a new domain, host, and adding the apps. In the near future, this URL will redirect to TheNewAmericana dot com. By definition, Americana refers to those things that remind us of the past. It’s a term that’s historical in nature. By making it “new,” we hope to participate in the fight of bringing back the values that made America great… though not in a Trump or Hillary fashion. We want Lincoln. We want Coolidge. We want Reagan. We want fiscal and social conservatism to reign once again in our country.

Don’t go to the new site, yet. It’s under construction. If you have this site bookmarked, no worries. It will redirect so you’ll still be able to get here how you always have in the past and it will take you to the new site.

We are continuing the fight. We cannot give up. Conservatism isn’t dead. It’s taking a beating, but the ideology and principles are far too strong to be derailed completely by the liberals and weak Republicans. Stay tuned.

  1. Thank you! With Breitbart going full on Trump, I had to find a new news outlet. You were my answer – thanks to Mark Levin for pointing the way. You’re doing a great service for this country. I mean that sincerely.

  2. You should refrain from referring to Conservatism as an “ideology.” Conservatism is the only political philosophy without ideology, as it is based on the human experience and history rather than abstract ideas. We should not adopt a label of our enemies by using their terminology and we should not promote Conservatism as simply an alternative “ideology” when, in reality, it is something far better.

  3. Thank you for you for your dedication and efforts to conservatism, the truth and to this country!!! #nevertrump #neverhillary!

  4. Can’t wait for the mobile app…I’m glad I found your site, couldn’t stand drudge no more…I am drudge free

  5. Awesome! Such a relief to have counter-sites to Drudge! Keep up the great work, I will def be a frequent visitor!

  6. I recently found your website and am so thankful to finally find a ‘go-to’ site. Keep up the good work!

  7. Thanks for doing this. With all the news sources on which I used to rely now having thoroughly jumped the shark (Drudge, Freerepublic, Brietbart, etc.) you are our only hope (help me obi-won). Don’t forget to add a tip-line/DM port and a simple text version for faster downloads.

  8. You may regret using the name of “Lincoln” in that he used centralization of the State to create a European-style nation-state by making the national government mean the entirety of the Federal regime; this was, in fact, totally contrary to the US Constitution, and one can read The Federalist Papers in this regard.

The original federal system meant the free, representative, republican existence of the sovereign states combined with the national government, not a consolidated regime. As a baleful result of the War Between the States, the Federal government exists as the apotheosis of the national government made supreme as a nation-state in the European mode of statism. The American Republic, on the contrary, was not supposed to be like European states with their corruption and decadence and with the Hobbesian notion of sovereignty.

We had, moreover, a Revolution of 1776 that revolted against imperial excess that now exists as the American Imperium, the origins of which can be directly traced to Abraham Lincoln. But, in fact, a European statement of affixed “sovereignty” exists nowhere in the Constitution, which has the Preamble as: “We the people …,” not we the Federal Government. Q. E. D.

    Thank you.

  9. Thank you for establishing this news site. It has been a breath of fresh air during this election cycle.

I left my usual news sites: drudge, breitbart, foxiness, etc. On, one of the commenters recommended your site which has become (one of 2) of my daily sites.

Keep up the great work. There are millions of us (conservative, constitutionalist and yes, christian) out here. We are never going to give up.

  10. Your website was a breath of fresh air in the sea of pro-Trump propaganda. Thanks for all you do and good luck with the new effort!

  11. No need to apologize and retreat on your personal conservatism and Christianity. They are a necessary part of constitutionalism and our values.

  12. I find myself using Drudge to get links on the bottom for conservative and other writers. Have you considered adding links? (rhetorical question)

    1. Jim: Yes, a list of conservative sources is in the works. Now that Cruz has dropped out, we’re vetting the stories from the sources to see who is fighting for conservatism and who is simply trumpeting for Trump for the sake of the GOP. Once complete, we’ll include the list.

  13. This is great news and appreciate the direction of the site. I have been going to Drudge several times a day for many years. It took me awhile to change my habits, but I’m proud to announce that I fully off of Drudge. Keep up the good work.

  14. AWESOME. I officially abandoned Drudge and Fox about two months ago over their shameless Trump boot licking, uninstalled their apps, and was looking around for a pro-liberty alternative. Social News Watch is a fantastic replacement and I’m very pleased to be on board as it expands into The New Americana.

    Well done.

If you’re looking for guest contributors, count me very interested.

  15. I am an ardent reader of this site — checking several times a day.
This site and The Liberty Daily [] have taken the place of Drudge, Breitbart, I do NOT visit those sites any more.

Keep up the good work. Your readers (such as myself) are working to help get your site before all conservatives, and hopefully others who can be persuaded to our cause.

  16. So glad to have found this site. I no longer follow Fox/ Drudge/ Breitbart , the traitor sell outs. I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t left a big void. This site is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks

  17. I’m glad you are here, and I like the new name. I stopped visiting Drudge over a month ago, and I used to go there 4 or 5 times a day. Thanks for being here!

  18. What a great site! I definitely left drudge and Fox. Its a shame that we wasted so many years reading and listening to those people only to be fooled when it matters most. What I would like to see on the front page is a list of conservative principles and that way people would know where we stand. Thanks for creating this site!
