Why the LGBTQ community should be outraged by leftist rhetoric on Orlando

Omar Mateen Barack Obama

The LGBTQ community has a direct enemy. It’s not the one that you hear about on mainstream media. It’s not the one you hear about from leftist politicians. The biggest threat to LGBTQ people worldwide is Islam. As of yesterday, the biggest threat to the LGBTQ community in the United States is radical Islamic terrorism. It isn’t even close.

The political friends of the LGBTQ community is the liberal wing of government. This is the same wing of government that is now utterly ignoring the blatantly obvious threat to the LGBTQ community that has emerged in America. Why? Because it doesn’t match their agenda. The left doesn’t want to acknowledge the existence of radical Islamic extremism, let alone fight it. They want to fight against the 2nd Amendment. They want to fight against “hate crimes” perpetrated on the LGBTQ community.

There’s no need to go into why they want to take on the 2nd Amendment. It’s clear that they want to expand gun laws in order to expand gun laws further in the future. Eventually, they want to be within reach of taking away guns. After all, guns are the biggest culprit in their minds. To make it worse, they want it associated with hate.

The importance of assigning the Orlando massacre as a gun-driven hate crime is because the concept of “hate crimes” can be inclusive to all religions. It’s irrelevant to them that the number of LGBTQ community members killed by non-Muslims is infinitesimal compared to those killed by Muslims. They want to associate Judeo-Christian values in the same “hateful” realm as radical Islam.

Here’s the saddest reality. If Omar Mateen had been a white conservative Christian, religion would absolutely be the primary factor. The left would be foaming at the mouth to the point that attacks on the 2nd Amendment would be practically non-existent compared to attacks on conservative Christian intolerance and hate. That narrative plays well to their agenda in a way that radical Muslim intolerance and hate does not.

As Leon Wolf at Red State puts it, the left fears Muslims more than they support the LGBTQ community.

There are those who claim to be Christian that are definitely hateful to LGBTQs. The difference is that they can spew hate and condemn them regularly, but you rarely see them physically harming LGBTQs and you almost never hear about them killing them in the name of Jesus Christ. On the other hand, there are Muslim countries where being LGBTQ can be an instant death sentence. There are Muslims in America who are being radicalized to the point that they will do what Mateen did in Orlando in the name of Allah.

If the left refuses to protect the LGBTQ community by addressing the existential threat that radical Islam clearly poses to them, isn’t it time for LGBTQs to speak out for themselves? Their qualms with the Judeo-Christian right is exponentially less potent than radical Islam’s hatred towards the LGBTQ community. Why does it take a conservative Christian to acknowledge the obvious on their behalf?

  1. Mmmmmm…..perhaps because most conservatives form their opinions and live their lives based on THOUGHTS whereas most libs form their opinions and live their lives based on emotions and FEELINGS. “If it ‘feels’ right /generous/compassionate/tolerant then it must BE right/generous/compassionate and tolerant.

Still waiting for the PC culture to die of entropy……not hopeful .
