Editor comment: My friend Peter Heck at The Resurgent is right on target regarding the failed British National Health Service versus America, where so many major health advances have been made.
I realize that insurance companies act in place of the government in determining “what’s covered.” But insurance companies can’t enforce laws and tell parents they can’t pay for a procedure out of their own pockets. That’s the difference between government-controlled health care and market-based financial risk products (insurance).
In the end, liberty demands we allow people to act according to their own means and best judgment, not take their rights away in the name of giving everything to everyone (which is impossible).
