Trump tweets U.S. will not accept transgenders in military

Trump rescinds Obama transgender directive

I’m sure this is about to eat the entire news cycle, and take everyone’s eyes off the Senate. Jeff Sessions will be very happy for a few hours.

Three tweets (this, this, this):

They read:

After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.

Thank you.

Trot out the usual outrage and spin up the breathless gasp machines on the left to 110 percent of rated thrust. But the president is right on all counts here.

The U.S. armed forces are not a social experiment. They must remain a fighting force and transgenders are both expensive and disruptive.

So let it be tweeted. So let it be done.
